| WOLVERINE doesn't exactly come after X3 so what happens to him is not terribly relevant to his own movie. We did talk about a couple of characters that they wanted to save for the WOLVERINE movie spin-off. I can't tell you who they are, but there was really only one we wanted to use for X3, and they said they're not going to have a big enough part to risk losing them for WOLVERINE. Sabretooth will be in there, but I don't know in what form. I think his relationship with Wolverine is under explored. |

| ComingSoon.net/Superhero Hype! caught up with The Prestige star Hugh Jackman, who gave us an update on his upcoming "X-Men" spinoff, Wolverine. "We've now signed off on the script. If you know about the history of 'X-Men' movies, that's a revolution for us. We're a year away from shooting the film and we have the script," Jackman said. "And, by the way, it is unbelievable. It's a David Benioff script. He's probably the hottest writer going around town, and he was beating down our door to write this movie. It was the most amazing thing. So, we have this fantastic script. I've got a couple of movies coming out in the next month, and I might be able to tell you who the director is by then. We're seriously into talking about it now." He added that Wolverine will definitely be a prequel but will not follow the Japanese storyline that comic books have addressed. "At present, no. That is still something we really want to do. What we need to do is establish who he is and find out how he became Wolverine," he explained. Jackman said he is also interested in making a sequel to Wolverine. "I'm not ruling it out," he smiled. |

| Posted: Monday November 13th 2006 12:26am Source: Dark Horizons Author: Garth Franklin 'Zephyr' is back with a scoop on the comic book adaptation front regarding some guy named Bryan Singer, wonder who that might be: "Bryan Singer, along with executive producer Chris Lee and producer Jon Peters, are currently in Honolulu not only celebrating Lee's birthday but also discussing the next Superman movie. Pre-production is slated to start as early as sometime mid-to-late next year, the location thereof to still be determined. However, this is a little more interesting. A Honolulu newspaper stated that Singer has in fact been approached for a potential fourth X-Men movie, though he said he simply couldn't squeeze in a large-scale project before the next Superman. Although, he did say that he is interested in reading the Wolverine script. That movie in particular said that a director would be popping up soon...and a Wolverine flick, depending on the scale, could be made by Singer before late next year". The scoop got an extra boost this weekend with comments from Hugh Jackman saying that Singer "is the preferred director but there is a major timing issue in the production". |
