the emulator is excellent - it also emulate errors *gnar*
i´ve 2 problems: 1. when finishing a tower everything stops, i can´t do anything 2. the program accepts the "save-disk" only if it wants, don´t know if it´s depending on the daytime or temperature...
does anyone have similar problems?

Re: problem emulator
Which emulator are you using? I run the Amiga version on WinUAE.
The freezing after completing a level is odd, and I've had it happen to me a few times. I recommend saving your progress every few towers just in case (especially after a really mean one). I don't know what causes this.
The save disk problem is new to me. Is the game asking you for a valid save disk, then not accessing it when you "insert" one? This is not an issue with the emulator - the original Amiga version was just the same. You need to swap to the save disk BEFORE you try to access it, so for instance you put the save disk in BEFORE you click on "Save Game".
Also, to save games you need a specially formatted disk. You can create a blank disk image from the emulator, but then you need to make it a ToB disk. There is an option in the Tower Designer to do this (file menu, "Prepare Disk"). Don't wipe the game disk by mistake!

Re: problem emulator
Hi Artinum!
Yep, we´ve formated a "disk" for a save-disk and I insert it before trying to access. -Z- helped me to run ToB ;-) Sometimes it´s ok, but suddenly it does not want anymore...and I´ve that problem after his visit...perhaps my karma is to bad for any kind of technic and programs...

Re: problem emulator
I suppose the problem is not the program, but the computer; both emulator and disks were installed from the same source as on my PC, and that works without a flaw.
Um ehrlich zu sein, hab ich keinen Schimmer - ich hab alles versucht, was in meiner Macht stand, und das ist leider nicht viel.

Re: problem emulator
On Amiga emulator (WinUAE V0.9.91) I've problems with hanging on finished tower and creating save disks, too. I tried it with both-disk-trick (first loading with cracked version and then inserting original disk), but it results in same problems.
Therefore I play original ToB with SainT (Atari) Emulator (see Topic) in this forum. I attached a cracked disk image file there (.MSA), which runs without problems there. Playing ToB on Atari it's like playing ToB on Amiga ;-)
Strange - my version runs without the slightest hitch.
What about the compatibilty of homegrown towers? Can you convert between the ST and Amiga format?

Re: problem emulator
No, the SAVE DISKs are not compatible. But it's possible to write own conversation tool. The disks differentiate only in header and other small things like color values.
Last night I had the problem on my computer, too. It was there all of a sudden, sitting on my keyboard and hissing at me.
It made the emulator so afraid he was having problems with the sound emulation and crashed after having solved a tower.
I deleted the emus (both of them) and re-installed, and now it's running fine again. Strange.

Seeing some of us are using the Amiga emu, and some the Atari one, while others concentrate on the remake... how much work would it take to write said tool?

Maybe 10-20 hours of work. This month I haven't much time to write a "ToBConv" tool, but I put it in my todo-list
