Honeypot

Honeypot

A friend of mine has been set the task of building a honeypot for Spamcrawlers, that is: a webpage including one-off fake email addresses with unique IDs. A crawler comes along, harvests the unique address (ID changes every time the page is loaded), the crawler's IP is logged, Spam arrives at that address, and you just need to correlate IP and email sender to nail the bastard.
Sounds like fun to me.
Anyway, what I need (and want) to do is display this web address
https://www.ja-wezen.yourweb.de/
as often as possible. I think I'll put it in my sig for some time...
If any of you like the idea, feel free to post this address anywhere you like.

Re: Honeypot

I'm so impressed with the idea, and so pleased, that I've added the URL (not as a link, just plain text) to my webpage index - the same colour as the background.

So any trawling bots will see it, while any human visitors (as if I ever get any to my hideous homepage!!) will not. Of course, they may spot the URL in its cunningly hidden form and think they've found something amazing... but more fool them!
