The objective of the development-network are... ...to have an exchange among like minded individuals concerned about development collaboration. ...to exchange ideas with people from different dicsiplines (Economics, Politics, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences...) ...to have a network of people where somebody might know somebody who can help you to find the answer to your question... ...to establish connections which lasts for the time after studies!

Climate change and global warming are increasingly discussed in the media. What does climate change mean for the achievments made in development, especially in poor countries?
~some critics say that development work by itself made the situation even worse... ~development work as continuation of colonialism...? ~aid dependancy... ~Donor countries struckture development work rather according to their own interestsmthan to recipient`s needs ~"Remember that the purpose of American aid is not to help other nations, but to help ourselves" (Nixon, President of the USA)
Interfacing different ways of knowing can promote and enrich sustainable development work. So far so good, but how can the knowledge of indigenous cultures be combined with Western science, and what promises does such a fusion holds for the future of our planet?
some talk about economic growth, others about "human capital formation", others say development was related to "freedom"... So: what is the final goal of development? When what has to be there so we can say: "development assistance has fianlally reached its objective"?
What are the specific challenges of various countries to implement development strategies and succeed in using prjects as tools for development? What are questions needed to be asked in the countries specific context? What are main obstaces of a country to move ahead with improving livelyhood of people and reducing poverty?
Share information you get about events & opportunites in the area of development cooperation!!! Of course you can look for people to join you at an interesting event, but you can also forward information which is not relevant for you but might be very helpful to somebody else!!!
Share information on good books, articles, movies, documentations etc. which you consider to give particularly good account of a development issue. If your item fits well into a topic which is already discussed in the forum you can even better place this information there directly.

Here you will be informend on some of the things happening "behind the curtain", on the status cooperation and negotiations with other organizations in the area currently are in.
In Zusammenarbeit mit dem EADI arbeiten wir daran weitere Studentische Organisationen und Netzwerke aus dem Bereich EZ ausfindig zu machen um eine Vernetzung von Netzwerken anzuregen. Es muss ja nicht jeder "das Rad neu erfinden"!
