Stimmt, daran hatte ich jetzt nicht gedacht. Wohl weil gerade diese Serie doch erst sehr spät in den CW einzieht. Allerdings zeigt ja gerade das Beispiel She-Hulk dass auch sowas nicht von Dauer sein muss.

Der Pessimist in mir geht davon aus, dass die Serie noch weiter fällt, aber eben langsamer.

Das sehe ich leider wie Lamond. Da müsste schon mindestens Wolverine her, vielleicht auch Spider-Man. Aber bei Logan gehe ich eh davon aus, dass der im Verlauf der Serie seinen Auftritt haben wird.

Hat Slott nicht vor wenigen Monaten damit "geprahlt" was für einen riesigen Schub sie durch CW bekommen hätten? Klar, die Leute sind nicht geblieben und die Verkaufszahlen stark gefallen, aber die 25.000 hat die Serie eben noch nicht unterschritten. Also wird es auch noch ein paar Monate dauern, bis die Verantwortlichen bei Marvel überlegen, die Serie zu canceln.

Die Verkaufszahlen von den Thunderbolts habe ich gerade nicht im Kopf. Aber selbst die dürften über MTU liegen, weshalb diese "kommerzielle Katastrophe" für mich eher die Ausnahme der Serien, die man nicht sofort cancelt, darstellt.

Mal abgesehen davon, dass ich Preacher immer noch für stark überschätzt halte, erfreuen sich seine Geschichten leider bei den Amis immer noch recht großer Beliebtheit. (Auch wenn sich das in den Verkaufszahlen nicht ausschlägt.) Wag es mal in einem US-Forum was gegen den Ennisher zu schreiben.

Wolverine: Origins lese ich derzeit nicht, aber mit Ghost Rider bin ich bisher sehr zufrieden. Und im Gegensatz zu Ennis will er sich wenigstens mit der Vergangenheit der jeweiligen Figur, die er schreibt auseinandersetzen, was bei den heutigen Autoren eher die Ausnahme ist. Das rechne ich ihm hoch an. Auch wenn natürlich noch abzuwarten bleibt, wie gut oder schlecht ihm das Einbinden der Continuity in die jeweiligen Serien gelingt.

Ernsthaft, ich konnte den ganzen Rummel um Slott und das was er schreibt (She-Hulk im Besonderen) noch nie nachvollziehen.

Weil Corben bestimmt nicht "billig" war oder wie meinst du das?

Hat Lamond zwar schon beantwortet, aber dennoch noch mal: Ja, es kommt eher selten vor. Das Beispiel, wo es mich am meisten geärgert hat, wäre wohl Gun Theory von Daniel Way. Sollte 4 Hefte laufen und wurde nach 2 Heften eingestellt. Oder die Epic Anthology, wo nur 1 Ausgabe erschienen ist und AFAIR ca. 4 Cliffhanger hinterliess. Epic II war in dieser Hinsicht einfach eine große Enttäuschung.

Wieso gehst du davon aus, dass Wolverine bei Ghost Rider auftauchen wird?

Ich meine damit folgendes: Wenn Marvel damit kalkuliert hat, GR bei schlechten Absatzzahlen bereits frühzeitig einzustellen, dann hätte man den finanziellen und arbeitstechnischen Aufwand vermieden, schon nach 5 Heften den Zeichner für 2 Ausgaben zu wechseln. Erstens ist Corben wie du schon sagst, bestimmt nicht billiger zu haben wie Texeira. Und zweitens macht es für alle Beteiligen sicher mehr Arbeit, denn Way muss sich mit einem neuen Artist zurechtfinden, die PR Abteilung muss den Wechsel promoten, die Editoren müssen den neuen Künstler gut einbinden, etc.

The CIVIL WAR crossover continued to sprawl across Marvel’s line in September. However, the delays are starting to take their toll. PUNISHER WAR JOURNAL was supposed to launch last month as a tie-in series. But the main CIVIL WAR series isn’t ready yet, so the series has been put back to late November.

That leaves BLADE as the only new ongoing title for the month - Marvel’s latest attempt to relaunch the character on the back of his success in other media. Also on this month’s charts, a range of new miniseries, including ZOMBIE, which sees the beleaguered Max imprint showing signs of life again. And there’s the first of the very odd STAN LEE MEETS one-shots.

Despite the CIVIL WAR delays, Marvel still thrashed DC in terms of market share. In dollar terms, they win 41.3% to 33.4%. In unit share, it’s 45.8% to 36.1%. Not even close.

Running a month late, CIVIL WAR continues to rack up enormous sales. The re-order activity is insanely high, especially by Marvel standards - issue #1 picks up a further 22,867 sales to chart at number 99, issue #2 sells another 20,473, and issue #3 sells another 5,390. Of course, variant covers play a big part in those re-orders, but even by those standards, the continued sales on early issues are extremely high. As always, the added sales are included in the numbers above.

Issue #4 also has a variant cover by Michael Turner, which will also boost sales. But these are incredibly good sales, by any standards. Admittedly, there’s been something of an online backlash to the actual content of issue #4 - and the introduction of Clone Thor seems a curious direction for a book that was being aggressively marketed to new readers. But online complaints about top sellers rarely seem to be reflected in sales, and it’s virtually guaranteed that CIVIL WAR will remain a juggernaut for the whole run.

ASTONISHING attempts to return to monthly shipping and actually manages it - for one issue. Unfortunately, issue #18 has been delayed into November. Since the creative team insist that they’re perfectly capable of meeting a monthly schedule, one has to wonder what on earth is going on here.

The book continues to hover at a very satisfying level, and issue #16 picks up 1,526 in re-orders. There’s a variant sketch cover on this issue, as well.

AMAZING continues to benefit from its CIVIL WAR tie-in. Interestingly, as we’ll see, the unmasking seems to have had very little effect on sales for the other two Spider-Man titles, so it seems likely that the big impact here is the crossover. Issues #533 picks up 1,498 re-orders, and issue #534 shifs 2,001.

This is another book whose schedule has been knocked off course by the late-running CIVIL WAR, since it can’t run ahead of the parent book. It’ll be suffering major disruption over the next few months.

Celebrating 100 issues of the Ultimate universe, which has proved a lot more enduring than many people predicted. The anniversary sales boost, combined with yet another variant cover, sends the book to its highest level in years. History suggests that these boosts tend not to last, especially where (as here) the actual story content is the middle chapter of a storyline.

I was sceptical that the market would support two Wolverine titles, but thus far, sales seem to suggest I was wrong.

Once again, ULTIMATES proves that people may complain about ludicrously slow books, but they keep buying them anyway.

Thanks to the combined forces of CIVIL WAR and DC’s 52, even though ULTIMATES is actually climbing slightly in sales, it’s no longer a top ten book. That really shows how much the top of the charts have been changed by these big event books over the last few months.

Issue #1 picks up 1,352 re-orders, and issue #2 sells a further 1,699.

Two issues this month, as CAPTAIN AMERICA concludes its ongoing storyline with the late-running issue #21, and then throws itself into CIVIL WAR. The Ultimate titles have somewhat drifted off the radar over the last couple of years, and ULTIMATE X-MEN now seems to be stuck in a steady decline. Next month’s anniversary issue should spike the numbers, but in the long term, the book really needs something to draw attention.

A fairly standard second issue drop for this title, which had the good sense to launch as a CIVIL WAR tie-in for maximum attention. In fact, although the tie-in is genuine, it’s still a peripheral book in the crossover. We’ll have to wait and see how well HEROES FOR HIRE can hold on to these readers when the crossover ends, since that’ll give us a better idea of its long term performance.

On the flip side, though, it’s selling very well for an Eternals book. Issue #2 picks up 1,745 in re-orders, and issue #3 gets 1,809.

After the initial surge of interest from Spider-Man’s unmasking, SENSATIONAL seems to be drifting quietly back to its normal level. Another year, another Blade relaunch. The character has been relatively successful in movies over the last few years, but alongside that we’ve seen Marvel try and fail to cash in, again and again, with a string of frankly embarrassing flops. It’s tempting to wonder why they’re still bothering when the character now has such a clear and unequivocal track record of failure in this medium. But then again, perhaps the problem isn’t the character so much as the approach. (The 1999 Bart Sears version really does defy description.)

This time the impetus is Blade’s short-lived TV show, and they’re taking a much more direct and straightforward approach. And once again his book launches with a desultory 35K. That’s not a very encouraging starting point, and to judge from the fate of the TV show, even the casual audience has largely moved on by now. In fairness, this is a far better effort than some of the BLADE projects Marvel have published over the last few years but the signs are not encouraging.

Until now, I haven’t bothered labelling the various Marvel imprints in the way that Marc does for the DC column. But with Max coming back to life, and the Dabel Brothers about to unleash a deluge of books, it seems worthwhile to start. Both developments, by the way, show Marvel making an unusually concerted effort to break out of the superhero ghetto, which will be worth watching.

Anyway, PUNISHER is still clinging like a barnacle to the 34K mark, and there’s not much more to say about it.

Es sind schon sehr beeindruckende Zahlen

Beeindruckende Zahlen für eine beeindruckende Serie. Hut ab Mr. Whedon


Die aktuelle Storyline verdient diesen kommerziellen Erfolg. Trotzdem stelle ich mir die Frage: Werden die Verkaufszahlen nach CW wieder auf ihr ursprüngliches Niveau zurücksinken?


Solche Verkaufsanstiege sind alles andere als gut. Wenn die Spekulanten aus ihren Löchern hervorkriechen und #100 Ausgaben kaufen, werde ich misstrauisch.


Wurde aber auch Zeit, dass die Hautserie mehr Käufer findet als die sehr mittelmässige Zweitserie.


Enttäuschend Natürlich sind die Verkaufszahlen explodiert, aber nicht übermässig. Cap ist der Star des aktuellen Events! Da hätte ich schon mit über 100'000 Ausgaben gerechnet. Eine Schande ist das


Seht euch das an: Civil War YA & Runaways hatte in den ersten beiden Ausgaben bessere Zahlen als Cap #22 Und sogar das War Files Heft schneidet auf dem gleichen Niveau ab. Das ist einfach lächerlich


Kirkman scheint nicht gerade zu überzeugen. Ich muss erst mal das Trade lesen.


Ich bin nicht unzufrieden mit den Verkaufszahlen. Da die Tie-In Ausgaben wirklich sehr gelungen waren, hoffe ich, dass ein paar CW - Leser an Bord bleiben. Wenn die Serie sich bei etwa 35'000 einpendelt, könnte sie eine Weile überleben.

Ja, diese Serie braucht noch knapp zwei Monate um sich zu stabilisieren. Ich bin positiv überrascht, dass diesen Monat nur 4.5% abgesprungen sind. Wenn Marvel einen passenden Nachfolger für Finch findet (Vorschläge?) sieht es ganz gut aus für Ausgabe #50


Qualitativ ist diese Mini perfekt. Die Geschichte ist spannend und unterhaltsam, gut in die Geschehnisse des MU integriert und die Zeichnungen sind atemberaubend. Wieso also diese enttäuschenden Zahlen?

  1. Schlechtes Timing - Hätte nicht während CW lanciert werden sollen!
  2. Schlechtes Marketing - Wenn die Serie schon während CW lanciert werden muss, dann hätte man es als CW Tie-In markieren sollen. Es wäre nämlich nicht mal gelogen.

Das ist eine Serie, dessen Zahlen sich einzig aufgrund der grandiosen Qualität verbessern. Good Job Mr. Brubaker!

12% ist ne ganze Menge. Moon Knight verlor von Heft #2 auf Heft #3 lediglich 6.4 % und zwar auf einem Verkaufsniveau. Wenn die Serie mittelfristig überleben will, muss sie sich beim nächsten Heft die Verluste dritteln (c.a. 4%).


Pak überzeugt durch gute Stories und das spiegelt sich in den Verkaufszahlen wieder! Ob die "World War Hulk" Nachricht für den 8.4% Push verantwortlich ist?


yep. Wenn man bedenkt, dass dies das kommerziell schwächste Event ist (neben CW und PH) und nur irgendwelche kosmischen D-Lister im Buch vorkommen, sind das fantastische Verkaufszahlen. Hut ab!

Ich hoffe mit Raimondi als Stammzeichner steigen die Zahlen ein bisschen.

Die Frage ist: Wird Iron Man #13 mehr oder weniger Ausgaben verkaufen als Cap #22? Was meint ihr? Ich jedenfalls tippe auf Iron-Man.


Keine sonderlich guten Zahlen, für eine nicht sonderlich gute Serie. RIP Blade.



Im Gegensatz zu X-Factor oder She-Hulk konnte diese Serie einige CW-Leser halten. Interessant. Aber mit #110 steigen die Zahlen wohl auf über 70'000.



Durch die zusätzlichen CW-Tie-In Ausgaben wird das Ende dieser Serie noch ein wenig hinausgezögert. Es stellt sich jedoch die Frage: Canceln oder neues Kreativteam? Eine Frage, die wir uns bereits im MEiC gestellt haben.

Wieder das alte Elend Leute! KAUFT DIESE SERIE!

Nicht sehr überraschend, aber dennoch nicht nett.

Am meisten beeindrucken mich die hohen Nachbestellungen. Marvels Reprint Strategie scheint voll aufzugehen

Absolute Zustimmung!

Die "The War at Home" Storyline ist wirklich sehr gut. Ob die Leser dran bleiben, wird wohl auch davon abhängig sein, wie CW endet. Wenn wieder alles auf Null gesetzt wird, springen die Event Leser ab.

Das liegt wahrscheinlich daran, dass es in #22 hauptsächlich um Sharon Carter ging.

Wie wärs mit McNiven?

Ich bin da recht zuversichtlich, dass Ghost Rider überlebt. Spätestens ab Ausgabe #6, wenn Corben kommt, steigen die Zahlen wieder.

Wenn ein neuer Zeichner kommt, gab es meistens einen Anstieg der Zahlen. Viele möchten den "Neuen" vielleicht mal ausprobieren. Außerdem würde es mich nicht wundern, wenn es einige Variants gibt.

Corben ist ein grosser, aber im Undergorund bereich, Superheldenleser nicht so sehr.

Ausserdem gilt er nicht wirklich als neuer Zeichner, sondern ist "nur" ein Fill-In. Das dürfte sich nicht so stark auswirken.
